Contribute and participate as lead electrical engineer and a member of a multi-disciplinary team on cement, lime and related minerals processing industries project(s). Use and understand the relevant standards, codes, norms, and practices used by engineers working in heavy industrial electrical, instrumentation, and controls work in the cement processing and cement terminal distribution sectors.
Make calculations for recommending sizes and specifications of electrical power distribution systems, instrumentation, and process control systems typically used in the cement industry. Calculate the size of and specify electrical equipment in accordance with cement industry standards, national (NEC, IEEE, OSHA, MSHA, ISA, ICEA, NEMA, NFPA), and regional codes – including various facets of power distribution equipment, wiring, raceways, PLC control system equipment and process instrumentation.
Determine specifications and applications of instrumentation and devices in the harsh environments typical of cement plants and cement transload terminals. Prepare contractor bid and construction documents including Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), One Line Diagrams, Motor and Controls Schematics, Power/Control/Instrumentation Equipment plans, Electrical Room Equipment Layouts, Cable Tray Layouts, Conduit Riser Diagrams, Panelboard Schedules, Raceway and Cable Schedules, Electrical Equipment and Load Lists, Instrument/Device Lists, and I/O & Signal lists.
Design applications and specifications of Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s), Motors, Process Instrumentation for Cement Industry Applications, and PLC/HMI I/O, hardware, and marshalling cabinets and control panels. Perform system integration services such as network configuration and PLC/HMI programming for Rockwell Automation controllers, graphical displays, I/O, and drives as they are applied in cement transload terminals. Visit cement transload terminal sites to investigate existing power distribution, instrumentation, and control systems, as well as executes process system checkout/startup/commissioning efforts required to bring a new transload terminal online. Position requires Master’s or equivalent-level degree in Electrical Engineering, plus 2 years of experience performing the duties of this position. 40 hours per week.
